Ali Wong Tucson Concert reviews
Horrible Entry, Amazing Show, Horrible Exit
The show was amazing. Ali and her opener were hilarious.
The terrace theater in Long Beach was the worst experience I’ve ever had when it comes to a show or concert/event. First, they have you go through a metal detector, then they put your phone in a locked case. But no one is checking tickets yet. Everyone is asking what to do because our tickets are on our phones... they say there’s a separate line after we go through here where they will then unlock your phone and check tickets. However there are no cones ropes or any staff directing where to go or what line is for what. There is just a mass snakeing line. The show is supposed to start at 7 and there are a good 500+ people still in line to get their phone unlocked at 720. Not even to get into the building! Then they must’ve realized the mistake and started unlocking phones at the door so there was mass rush to all the doorways.
Exit not much better. Literally would not let you leave out any of the doors except on one side. But no one ever said that. Our phones are still in the locked cases, mind you. No one has said anything about who is unlocking them or where. Outside of the theater down the stairs there are finally staff members frantically unlocking phones.
Just so inefficient.
